About us

Vietnam E-Commerce Forum in January 2007 in Hanoi attracted the participation of many e-commerce companies both from Vietnam and from other countries in the world. At the Forum, many participants proposed to establish an association that gathers companies, organizations and individuals working in the e-commerce field. Later, on the 25th of June, 2007, the Ministry of Home Affairs made a Decision to establish Vietnam E-commerce Association (VECOM).

VECOM is a social-professional organization whose members are companies, organizations and individuals conducting business in e-commerce; applying e-commerce in their operating process; researching or providing services in e-commerce. The Association operates on a volunteer, non-profit basis, for the purpose of gathering, co-operating, protecting its members to develop e-commerce in Vietnam. VECOM works on a national scale, within the law of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The First Meeting for the term 2007-2011 of Vietnam E-commerce Association was held on 24th July, 2007 with the participation of over 200 founding members and representatives of administrative bodies.

The First Meeting passed the Regulations and the Executive Board was elected with 23 members.

The Second Meeting was held on 26th May, 2011.

The Meeting passed the Direction for operation for the second term and elected for the new Executive Board consisting of 17 members. Mr. Le Danh Vinh was elected as the Chairman of the Association.

The third National Congress was held on 15 April 2016 in Hanoi.

The Meeting passed the Direction for operation for the third term and elected the new Executive Board consisting of 23 members. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung was elected as the Chairman of the Association.

The 4th National Congress of Delegates for the 2021 - 2025 tenure was held on November 10, 2021, in Hanoi. The Congress approved the Operational Orientation for Tenure IV and elected a new Executive Committee consisting of 24 members. At the first meeting of the Executive Committee (Tenure IV), Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Dung was elected as the Chairman of the Vietnam E-commerce Association.
