Overview of WTO activities related to E-commerce

Since 1998 the World Trade Organization (WTO) has conducted research activities on e-commerce. At the request of the member states, the WTO Secretariat has conducted numerous studies on the role of the WTO in the development of e-commerce. Many member countries, both developed and developing countries, have actively researched and participated in many meetings to best support the development of e-commerce through the WTO's strict system of multi-border trade rules.

The Department of E-Commerce and Information Technology has comprehensively studied WTO regulations and discussions related to e-commerce and developed an Overview Report on WTO activities in this new field.
