On the afternoon of August 14, 2026, at the 37 Hung Vuong Convention Center (Ba Dinh, Hanoi), the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) successfully organized the Business Forum 2026 under the theme "Removing Bottlenecks, Making the Digital Economy a Growth Engine in a New Era of Development". The event attracted representatives from regulatory agencies, the Vietnam E-commerce Association (VECOM), leading economic experts, and numerous members of the business community nationwide.

Speaking at the Forum, Mr. Bui Quang Cuong, Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam E-commerce Association (VECOM), noted that the rapid development of e-commerce is erasing geographical barriers, creating opportunities for Vietnamese enterprises to access international markets and participate deeper in global trade. However, this opportunity also brings mounting competitive pressure, as domestic businesses must compete not only among themselves but also against global market players.

According to Mr. Cuong, a notable issue is the widening capability gap between large corporations and small enterprises. While highly capable businesses continue to expand their markets and secure more orders, many smaller businesses are witnessing declining sales or even being forced to exit the market.

Therefore, Mr. Cuong emphasized the need for solutions to bridge this gap, focusing on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in adopting technology, accelerating digital transformation, and leveraging AI. These will serve as vital tools to help businesses enhance productivity, optimize costs, and boost their competitiveness in the global business environment.
