Agreement on cooperation in e-commerce development in Da Nang

On July 1, 2011, VECOM and the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade, as well as the Ministry of Industry and Trade's Department of E-Commerce and Information Technology (VECITA), held a signing ceremony for an e-commerce growth cooperation agreement in Da Nang.

Da Nang is a well-known landmark with historical sites, tourist attractions, and a reputation for being diverse and fast-growing. The Vietnam E-commerce Association (VECOM) has selected Da Nang as the first locality to execute the Association's and localities' e-commerce growth cooperation strategy.

On July 1, 2011, these three units held the Agreement Signing Ceremony in close collaboration with VECOM, the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade, and the Department of E-commerce and Information Technology under the Ministry of Industry and Trade (VECITA). Da Nang signed an agreement on E-commerce Development Cooperation. The Permanent Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Assoc., and the Chairman of VECOM, Assoc., were both present at the signing ceremony. Phung Tan Viet, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, and Prof. Dr. Le Danh Vinh.

Mr. Phan Van Kha, Director of the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade, presented commemorative gifts to Mr. Le Ngoc Duc, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam E-commerce Association.

Initially, VECOM representatives committed to assisting Da Nang organizations and companies in promoting e-commerce applications worth billions of dong. Some members have launched specific commitment packages with special incentives for Da Nang businesses to promote e-commerce apps, including Computing and Data Communication Company (VDC), Vietnam Technological and Commercial Bank (Techcombank), Vietnam Valuation Joint Stock Company (www.vatgia.com), Mat Bao Trading Service Company Limited, and Young Ambassador Entertainment Joint Stock Company (YEAH1 TV). Businesses should refer to the entire content of the Agreement on Cooperation and Development of E-commerce in Da Nang to identify the best opportunities to take advantage of VECOM members' support packages.

The tripartite cooperation agreement between VECOM, VECITA, and the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade is a new form of cooperation to assist Da Nang in better implementing the Chairman of the Committee's Decision No. 8087/QD-UBND dated October 21, 2010. The Da Nang City People's Committee endorsed the Da Nang City E-commerce Development Plan for the period 2011-2015. The agreement could provide a new impetus for the growth of e-commerce in the city's expanding central business district.

VECOM will work with relevant parties to track the serious application of the agreement, while also recommending members to continue paying attention and proposing new service packages to assist Da Nang businesses in effectively implementing e-commerce.
