[Da Nang, January 10, 2020] With the agreement of the Standing Board, the Vietnam E-Commerce Association has organized the 6th Executive Board Meeting for the IIIth term in Da Nang. This is an annual event held annually to summarize, evaluate the achieved results and develop and provide additional comments to complete the Work Plan for 2020. Attend the conference have the Executive Committee members term IIIth; The close members have made a lot of contribution and attachment to the development of the Association over the past time. Especially, at the Conference, there were representatives of Departments of Industry and Trade such as Da Nang and Quang Nam.

Vietnam Online Business Forum – VOBF is annual event organized first time in 2016 by Vietnam E-commerce Association and has attracted considerable attention from the community. Continuing its success, VOBF 2019 was held in Hanoi on August 14th, 2019 and Ho Chi Minh City on August16th, 2019. The event which was taken place 3rdtime in Vietnam gathered more than 2.2000 participants from 2 regions including top speakers in marketingdomestically and internationally with attractive and hot topics.
On July 1st, Ms.Park – Ph.D. in Information, Scence , Director of KICC visited Vietnam E-Commerce Association. Mr. Nguyen Binh Minh – Member of VECOM Executive Board and Director of KICC had an open exchange on many issues related to e-commerce in Vietnam
On June 26, 2019, Vietnam Online Tourism Day 2019 co-organized by Vietnam E-commerce Association and Vietnam Tourism Association was taken place successfully with presence of state agencies, companies and businesses related to online tourism. At opening speech, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung, Chairman of Vietnam E-commerce Association showed that according to Report of World Tourism Organization, current tourism trend or tourists behavior has now entered a new phase called “ Connecting tourists”. It means that the tourists actively find destinations, tours, hotels and also post comments, reviews about their experiences after the trip to help the next tourists have useful information rather than the information from the companies that specialize in surveys, ratings and travel reviews. These shows that a new era of tourism business has begun
On April 23rd, 2019, Mr. Greg Wong-Managing Director of Agoda Services Company Limited visited Vietnam E-commerce Association (VECOM). After that, Chairman of VECOM and Managing Director of Agoda has openly exchanged many issues regarding online travel.
On April 9, 2019, nearly 50 delegates from enterprises, business establishments from coconut products in Ben Tre province attended the seminar “Bringing e-commerce to the countryside – Ben Tre Online Coconut Village ” at the provincial Department of Industry and Trade. The workshop was organized by Vietnam E-commerce Association VECOM, Lazada Vietnam e-commerce trading floor (Lazada.vn) in collaboration with Ben Tre Department of Industry and Trade.
This project is called “Coconut in Ben Tre Online”. The project will support small, medium and micro-sized enterprises, households dealing in coconut-related products in Ben Tre province to access and expand their business in the online environment. The project will last from March to the end of 2019 including the Inception and Spreading phase.
Vietnam Online Business Forum (VOBF), the biggest national e-commerce event organized by Vietnam E-commerce Association in collaboration with Vietnam E-commerce and Digital Economy Agency got high concern from online business community. With the topic “Break the Bound”, VOBF 2019 expects that agencies, organizations, enterprises and individuals will break their limits and together discuss to find out new opportunities and targets.
In recent years, the e-commerce in Vietnam has achieved the high pace and the scale of online trading almost reaches the goal of 10 billion USD. However, online shopping is relatively popular in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The potential of online shopping would be increased if we set up the coherent policies and closely connect with community business providing services and solutions for business online.
To dig in this potential, VECOM suggested sustainable e-commerce development in the period from 2019 – 2025. This program proposes two radical solutions. The first one is strengthening the belief of consumers, pushing trading online in the municipalities and provincial cities. The second one is supporting SME, household business, cooperatives, craft villages in the local where the online commodities are traded.
