Training enterprises to participate project Ben Tre Coconut Online

On April 9, 2019, nearly 50 delegates from enterprises, business establishments from coconut products in Ben Tre province attended the seminar "Bringing e-commerce to the countryside - Ben Tre Online Coconut Village ” at the provincial Department of Industry and Trade. The workshop was organized by Vietnam E-commerce Association VECOM, Lazada Vietnam e-commerce trading floor (Lazada.vn) in collaboration with Ben Tre Department of Industry and Trade.

Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Dung, Vice Chairman of Vietnam E-Commerce Association - VECOM said, "A principle of immutableness in the Vietnamese market is that" to sell goods to market". However, in reality, farmers or small business households in rural areas still lack a lot of information and skills needed to bring their products to market. So how can the specialty products of rural villages reach consumers across the country in the fastest way? E-commerce will help shorten this road, help craft villages expand their businesses, save marketing costs, and increase product value. ”

Mr. Vu Quoc Tuan, Director of Lazada Vietnam Foreign Relations shared “The workshop of Ben Tre Online Coconut Village is one of the activities within the framework of the project“ Specialties for online ”- the new project is developed by Lazada Vietnam, to contribute to building a comprehensive and sustainable e-commerce ecosystem in 2030. Through specific activities, Lazada is committed to supporting 8 million small and medium enterprises, serving 300 million customers, and creating 20 million job opportunities across the region. Ben Tre is the first locality to start the project with the program "Day of Ben Tre Coconut Village" expected to take place at the end of April 2019.

This project takes place in 2 stages. In phase 1, Lazada will coordinate with Vietnam Post Corporation (VN Post), Mat Bao BPO Company, and SAPO Joint Stock Company, with the support of VECOM and Ben Tre Industry and Trade Department, organized training sessions for households, start-up businesses, small and medium enterprises that are producing and trading coconut products in Ben Tre. Specifically, at the last conference, representatives from Lazada introduced methods and processes to become sellers on Lazada along with supporting tools for merchants, and goods consignment process with Lazada. like how to sell through Lazada.

Business establishments in Ben Tre when participating in this program will be entitled to a special support package including the free opening of booths, free commissions for life, free online sales training programs, the design support, booth image, specialty label if they have registered geographical indications ... The export of goods on international e-commerce floors is also supported by Lazada Vietnam in terms of Information and procedures needed. In addition, VNPost also pledged to support free shipping costs and prioritize orders of Ben Tre Coconut Village on this day.

Phase 2 is expected to take place at the end of April 2019 with the "Day of Ben Tre Coconut Village" on Lazada e-commerce floor. On this day, Lazada will navigate the traffic of the website www.lazada.vn to the booths of Ben Tre Coconut Village, along with other support tools such as homepage banner, search engine optimization, push strong marketing and communication activities to introduce coconut village products to consumers across the country.
