Alibaba 1688 and the Vietnam E-commerce Association (VECOM) Sign a Cooperation Agreement

Together Promoting the Development of Cross-Border B2B E-commerce Supply Chains

On November 26, Alibaba 1688 (1688.COM PTE. LTD.) and the Vietnam E-commerce Association (VECOM) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Singapore, establishing a strategic partnership to build and develop cross-border B2B e-commerce supply chains serving the Vietnamese market. Against the backdrop of Vietnam’s rapidly growing e-commerce sector and increasing demand from both businesses and consumers, the two parties committed to cooperation across several key areas, including learning from China’s e-commerce development experience, expanding bilateral e-commerce markets, building digitalized supply chains, applying artificial intelligence (AI) and smart solutions, as well as sharing resources within the e-commerce ecosystem. By leveraging their respective strengths, the partnership aims to support the development of Vietnam’s cross-border B2B e-commerce supply chains.

The signing ceremony was carried out by Mr. Wang Rui, Chief Executive Officer of 1688.COM PTE. LTD., and Mr. Bui Trung Kien, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam E-commerce Association. Representatives of the leadership of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy under the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam attended and witnessed the ceremony, expressing their expectations that this cooperation would deliver tangible benefits to both parties and make a significant contribution to the development of Vietnam’s e-commerce market in a modern, transparent, and sustainable direction.
