VECOM has officially released the Vietnam E-Commerce Training Report 2025 under the theme: “Human Resources for Sustainable E-Commerce.”
The report provides the most comprehensive and up-to-date overview of the current state of e-commerce education at higher education institutions nationwide, as Vietnam’s e-commerce sector enters a phase of rapid and sustainable development.

58 Universities Offering E-Commerce Programs
According to the nationwide 2025 survey conducted by Hiệp hội Thương mại điện tử Việt Nam (VECOM):
58 universities offer undergraduate programs in E-Commerce (Code: 7340122).
16 universities offer undergraduate programs in Digital Economy (Code: 7310109).
111 universities provide E-Commerce-related courses as part of their curriculum.
Compared to 2022, the number of universities offering a full E-Commerce major has increased significantly—from 39 institutions to 58—highlighting the growing demand for digital workforce training.
Notably, as of December 2025, 54 universities have joined the VecomNet (Network of E-Commerce Training Institutions), established by VECOM in 2022 to strengthen collaboration, share academic resources, and enhance coordinated training efforts nationwide.

E-Commerce Enrollment Surpasses 9,000 Students
The 2025 Report highlights impressive growth in student enrollment:
Academic Year 2023–2024: 3,479 students (22 surveyed universities)
Academic Year 2024–2025: 4,033 students (24 universities)
Academic Year 2025–2026: 4,987 students (25 universities)
It is estimated that when accounting for all 58 universities offering E-Commerce programs nationwide, total enrollment for the 2025–2026 academic year exceeds 9,000 students.
In parallel, 79% of universities reported rising admission benchmark scores for E-Commerce programs year by year, reflecting the growing attractiveness and competitiveness of the discipline.
Training Trends: Green E-Commerce, E-Commerce Law, and Cross-Border E-Commerce
The 2025 Report emphasizes the need to align education with sustainable development goals, particularly as the Law on E-Commerce (promulgated in December 2025) establishes a legal foundation for the sector’s next phase of development.
Key findings include:
70% of training programs have incorporated E-Commerce Law modules.
38% of universities offer courses in Cross-Border E-Commerce.
26% have integrated environmental sustainability content into E-Commerce curricula.
Many universities also plan to introduce new modules on Green E-Commerce, Digital Logistics, AI in Digital Commerce, and Digital Transformation during the 2026–2030 period.
