Ho Chi Minh Central Committee cooperates with VECOM to improve digital capacity for youth

On the morning of September 23, 2021, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union signed a cooperation agreement with the Vietnam E-Commerce Association (VECOM) to support young people to raise awareness and capacity in e-commerce and digital transformation.

According to the cooperation agreement, in the period of 2021 - 2023, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Party and VECOM jointly organized and implemented programs and activities on e-commerce, digital transformation for 100,000 enterprises owned by young people, 200,000 young people applied in the production and consumption of agricultural products, traditional products, local specialties and supports 500,000 young people to raise awareness and capacity in e-commerce and digital transformation.

The signing ceremony of cooperation between the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union and VECOM aims to support 500,000 young people to raise awareness and capacity on e-commerce and digital transformation.

The Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union and VECOM will propagate and disseminate knowledge about e-commerce and digital transformation to cadres, members and young people; orientation consultancy, vocational education on e-commerce, improving vocational skills related to e-commerce for young people; launching the program "Young people starting a business with the digital economy"; building an e-commerce platform "Young creative start-ups with Vietnamese agricultural products and specialties"; develop a set of digital standards for digital transformation enterprises and a guide to digital transformation,...

Within the framework of cooperation, the program "Young start-ups and digital economy" was organized and launched the award to encourage and honor individuals and groups of young people to participate in activities to promote the development of the digital economy, supporting start-up business models to develop on the digital platform.

In addition, the construction of the e-commerce platform "Young creative start-ups with Agricultural products and specialties of Vietnam" will contribute to improving the quality and consumption in the market for farmers in each province to participate through solutions to apply technology and agricultural promotion activities, Vietnamese specialties on the e-commerce floor.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Luong – Secretary of the Central Committee of the Delegation, Chairman of the Vietnam National Socialist Association, Chairman of the Central Team Council highly appreciated the signing of a cooperation agreement with VECOM to raise awareness and capacity on e-commerce and digital transformation for young people in the context of the Industrial Revolution 4.0.

"Of the seven tasks the Prime Minister assigned to the Central Delegation, the task of improving the digital capacity of youth and supporting young people to start a business is extremely important. The Central Delegation has reached out to 24 million young people nationwide, and will work with the Vietnam E-Commerce Association to promote the development of the country's digital human resources. This will be an important step in Vietnam's youth development strategy for the 2021-2030 period."

At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Dung – Vice Chairman of VECOM shared: "This cooperation will create a boom for the upcoming e-commerce. With the core force of Vietnamese youth will support the development of sustainable e-commerce nationwide – also an important goal of VECOM in the period of 2020-2025."

With this cooperation, it will create a premise to help the new generation of young people improve competitiveness, confidently start a business, assert themselves and contribute to the development of the digital economy and digital society to open up new growth space for the country's economy.
