The Unitour 2024 program was a resounding success with its stops at the University of Information Technology, VNU-HCM on October 30th and Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade on November 1st. The event attracted over 400 students from each university, creating a vibrant and enthusiastic atmosphere.

Unitour is an event within the series of activities of the Digital Business Contest 2024, aiming to connect students with businesses and provide learning opportunities about startups and business. This event typically includes activities such as seminars, recruitment booths, skill workshops, and networking programs between students and entrepreneurs. In 2023, E-Unitour was first held at 15 universities belonging to the E-commerce Training Network, attracting more than 10,000 students, lecturers, and interested business partners. In 2024, Unitour continues to be organized on a larger scale, including nearly 23 universities, with the theme "Catch the Trend - Lead the Future." This event not only focuses on connecting students with businesses but also encourages young people to grasp new trends in online business. Unitour at University of Industry and Trade, Ho Chi Minh City on November 1st

The success of Unitour at these two universities not only affirms the value of the program but also opens up many opportunities for students in their journey of self-discovery and career development. These experiences will certainly be a solid stepping stone for young people in the future. The UNITOUR program was jointly organized by the Vietnam E-commerce Association (VECOM) and the University of Information Technology, VNU-HCM with the theme "Career Orientation in Business - Management in Digital Business Trends" to help students of the Faculty of Information Technology have an overview of digital e-commerce and career orientation. At the same time, it ignites students' aspirations for creative startups. In his welcoming speech at the university, MSc. Trinh Trong Tin - Head of the E-commerce Department, Faculty of Information Systems, said: "In the context of a rapidly developing and changing market, grasping new trends is essential. Unitour is not just an event connecting students and businesses, but also a forum for young people to express their passion, seek knowledge, and develop necessary skills for the future."

Attending this Unitour, the event brought together many reputable units and businesses such as VNNIC with Registrars, SAPO, BSH, Lyon Agency, Grab Vietnam, and Conductify, creating a dynamic and energetic networking space. The presence of these leading brands not only brought rich knowledge but also opened up valuable networking opportunities between students and industry experts. Networking activities and discussions took place bustlingly, encouraging interaction and sharing of practical experiences, helping students equip themselves with the necessary luggage for the future.

At the event, Ms. Tran Thi Van, Specialist of the General Services Department, Vietnam Internet Center, Ho Chi Minh City Branch - Ministry of Information and Communications, gave an engaging presentation on "TIPS to own an impressive personal brand." She emphasized the importance of identifying one's core values, using social media effectively to promote one's image, building a network of relationships, and continuously updating knowledge. These sharings helped students better understand how to build a strong personal brand, thereby equipping them with the necessary tools to develop their careers and stand out in the labor market. The presentation received much positive feedback, encouraging students to apply the TIPS in practice.

With the presentation "Secrets to effectively utilizing student time" at Unitour at both universities, Ms. Tran Thi Anh Nguyet, Marketing Director of Saigon - Hanoi Insurance Corporation (BSH), shared valuable secrets to help students effectively utilize their time. She emphasized the importance of making specific plans and prioritizing learning activities, skill development, as well as participating in extracurricular activities. With practical and easy-to-apply methods, Ms. Nguyet encouraged students to not only improve their academic performance but also develop themselves comprehensively.

According to Mr. Nguyen Manh Dong, L&D Specialist at SAPO, specialized knowledge of e-commerce is the top factor. Students need to master basic concepts such as SEO, digital marketing, and data analysis. Besides, practical skills through projects or internships will help students apply theory to reality. He also emphasized the importance of data analysis skills and teamwork ability, as these are necessary skills to make strategic decisions in a dynamic e-commerce environment. Effective communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude are also big pluses in the eyes of employers. Finally, expanding the network of relationships and participating in networking activities in the industry will help students find more job opportunities. Continuing the program, Ms. Dang Thuy Trang – Head of Public Affairs, Grab Vietnam, shared a case study on Grab with the challenges, opportunities, and strategies that Grab has applied to adapt to the current digitalization trend.

In an increasingly competitive job market, understanding the factors that make you stand out to employers is crucial, especially in the rapidly growing field of e-commerce. Mr. Duong Minh Thong – CEO & Founder of Lyon Agency, shared insights on what helps students catch the eye of recruiters in the e-commerce field through the topic "Multi-channel Personal Branding Strategy for Young People."
