The popularization and rapid development phase of Vietnam's e-commerce began two decades ago with the introduction of the Master Plan for E-Commerce Development for the 2006–2010 period and Decree No. 57/2006/ND-CP on e-commerce. By 2025, Vietnam’s e-commerce sector has achieved a significant position within the broader context of commerce and the digital economy.The issuance of key policies and legal documents on taxation, customs, and import-export at the end of 2024 — effective from 2025 — marks the beginning of a new phase for e-commerce. At the same time, the National Master Plan for E-Commerce Development for the 2026–2030 period, along with the E-Commerce Law, will play a central role in ensuring rapid and sustainable development in the years ahead.
On June 23, 2025, the Ministry of Industry and Trade published the draft E-Commerce Law to collect feedback from relevant agencies, organizations, and individuals. On June 30, 2025, the Ministry will organize a Conference to gather feedback on the draft law and has invited the Association to participate.
This is a valuable opportunity for the Association and e-commerce businesses to provide direct feedback to the Ministry of Industry and Trade before the draft is submitted to the Government. Therefore, VECOM is organizing a seminar to discuss key contents of the draft E-Commerce Law, in order to submit written feedback to the Ministry and contribute directly at the Conference on June 30, 2025.
